Voting scandal

UKIP leader “lazy” Nigel Farage is missing the point – and not for the first time (Herald, June 18).

The question is not whether he works 18-hour days as UKIP ‘s leader. He earns his basic £80,000 salary for being an MEP. And the workplace for MEPs is the European Parliament.

That’s why his fifth worst voting record in the Parliament is such a scandal. How many other workers would expect to pick up their full salary if they only turned up fewer than half the times they were supposed to be at the office?
