Vibrant arts centre is too vital to let it slip away

REGARDING your (Shoreham Herald) front-page article last week, in the six months since Ropetackle Arts Centre opened, it has been wonderful for my children, aged eight, four and two years old, and I, too, have a local venue for the arts.

We have heard live classical music, seen clever comedy shows, inspiring theatre productions and fun family films together, all affordable, some free.

And within walking distance from home '“ which is fantastic.

Half-term workshops have given the children performance skills and fun, participation shows have taken entertainment to a higher level '“ we feel we have been part of the shows, part of the arts centre, and that builds self-confidence and a sense of community spirit.

Having the centre is making Shoreham feel much more vibrant and exciting, it is accessible to all and it is a really important place in the community.

Adur District Council MUST help this vital project.
