Remembering councillor from Steyning

I refer to former Steyning councillor Marjorie Ward (Steyning Herald, July 28, p3).

She was a well-loved and well-known councillor who died at the grand old age of 100 years – a reminder of my dear old mother who also reached such an age at 101 years and a reminder from our Queen and her years.

However, it bears to remind us all that some do not reach an age to remember and that young lives can be lost to us in such a short time.

We congratulate those who do well in life and others less fortunate to be lost and are still remembered on current sad occasions.
