POST OFFICE: Campaigning was all in vain, but thanks

I FELT I must write about the forthcoming closures of the post offices on March 14, especially the Upper Shoreham Road post office, pictured right.

Our campaigning evidently meant nothing at all, as the decision-makers had already made up their minds.

I feel sorry for all the disabled and infirm elderly people who live around here in this district alone.

Also, for our local post mistress, Caroline Cooke, at the Old Shoreham post office in Upper Shoreham Road.

She is helpful and cheerful at all times and nothing is too much trouble for her.

I trust the Post Office will give her the recognition she deserves. She will be greatly missed.

I also want to thank Tim Loughton for all his help and campaigning for us.
