LETTER: What now for fishing hut?

Following the sad death of much-loved Trevor Passmore, it is time to consider his wishes over the Fishing Hut at Kings Walk, Shoreham Beach.

This building, which is currently squatted, is registered in the name of three trustees on behalf of the Shoreham Angling Club. The club has not met for some years. The trustees have probably passed on.

However, if the club could reform and appoint new trustees then maybe the premises could be re-registered in their name.

Then the building could either be used by the local angling community as a base or else sold and the proceeds used to set up a trust for instance to encourage young people to take up angling.

I am sure this is what Trevor would have wanted.

If enough interested people will email me at [email protected] I will organise a meeting in a few weeks’ time.

Otherwise this opportunity will be lost forever.
