Lancing's new Barfield Park training ground is misery for residents

When we heard about the training ground being built, we saw the plans and it did not look too bad. Our house backs on to the first team pitches in Barfield park. The problems started when they pushed the ground up behind us to roughly 4ft higher than the level it was previously. This had the effect of the indoor pitch marquee being higher than we anticipated from the plans, and it now completely dominates our view.Lit up at night it is a total eyesore. We then had the grounds people in the summer at 7am mowing pitches at the weekends. Why this can't be done during the week I don't know. And when they use the sprinkler system the water comes in to our garden.I got a planning application this morning to erect two camera towers and a 500 seater stand behind our back garden. The camera towers would be able to see in to our houses and the noise a 500-seat stand would generate would be a lot.It is meant to be a training academy. Why, when they have a football stadium, do they need a 500 seat stand? It seems they can do anything they want over there and we don't seem to be able to do anything about it.The planning office recently made my neighbour shorten the height of his garden fence because it is 1 metre too high, but the stadium can erect a 17-meter tent, apply for a stand and camera towers. It beggars belief. I was hoping to bring it to the attention of all the neighbours here so we can start some appeals to block the permission.Ms Laura CroftBarfield ParkLancing-Don't miss out on all the latest breaking news where you live. Here are four ways you can be sure you'll be amongst the first to know what's going on.1) Make our website your homepage at {http://www.worthingherald.co.uk/|www.worthingherald.co.uk/|www.worthingherald.co.uk/}2) Like our Facebook page at {https://www.facebook.com/Worthing.news|www.facebook.com/Worthing.news|www.facebook.com/Worthing.news}3) Follow us on Twitter {https://twitter.com/Worthing_Herald|@Worthing_Herald|@Worthing_Herald} 4) Register with us by clicking on '˜sign in' (top right

Lit up at night it is a total eyesore. We then had the grounds people in the summer at 7am mowing pitches at the weekends. Why this can’t be done during the week I don’t know.

And when they use the sprinkler system the water comes in to our garden.

I got a planning application this morning to erect two camera towers and a 500 seater stand behind our back garden.

The camera towers would be able to see in to our houses and the noise a 500-seat stand would generate would be a lot.

It is meant to be a training academy. Why, when they have a football stadium, do they need a 500 seat stand?

It seems they can do anything they want over there and we don’t seem to be able to do anything about it.

The planning office recently made my neighbour shorten the height of his garden fence because it is 1 metre too high, but the stadium can erect a 17-meter tent, apply for a stand and camera towers.

It beggars belief. I was hoping to bring it to the attention of all the neighbours here so we can start some appeals to block the permission.
