Inviting youngsters to join Sussex Youth Commission

I hope readers will help share this unique opportunity for young people to get involved in tackling the issues that matter most to them.

Recruitment is now open for 14-25 year olds from Sussex who have an interest in joining the Sussex Youth Commission in 2016.

Building on the success of the project over the last two years, I want to continue to give young people from across the county an opportunity to have their say on policing and crime.

The Youth Commission enables young people to become part of the solution to tackling crime rather than being seen as part of the problem. This is also an excellent opportunity for young people to develop their professional skills and gain hands-on experience working on a project that is making a real difference in Sussex.

I am looking for applications from young people with a wide range of life experiences, including those who have had personal experience of the criminal justice system, to ensure that membership of the Youth Commission continues to reflect a diverse range of perspectives.

The deadline for applications is Monday 11 January. For more information please visit: http://www.sussex-pcc.gov.uk/youth-commission/.
