I was wrong about postal votes

I wish to apologise for my letter in the Gazette recently. I was wrong about postal voters having to re-register.

I discovered this when I rang the Electoral Commission to order application forms.

If things are the same as for elections – why the special (rather confusing) leaflet?

To make amends, I am helping organise a facts-only discussion in East Preston on the Friday evening before referendum week. No speculation about what might happen – just the facts as they are at the present. Cllr Terry Chapman will talk about trade, Cllr Robert Wheal about migration and I about the background of the EU. There will be free wine, a ploughman’s and a chance to ask questions, all in a convivial atmosphere. Any profit from ticket sales and raffle will go to the RNLI.

Everyone is welcome. I admit to wanting Brexit but no attempt will be made to sway anyone’s opinion.
