Fine concert by talented youth

I am just writing to say how much we all enjoyed the concert given by the area's talented young people recently.

The Arun Young Musician organisation always recognises those who give their time, expertise and energy to entertain friends, family and supporters, while gaining vital experience in public performance and presentation.

The concert took place in the lovely Church of St Mary, Clymping, with a delicious afternoon tea kindly served in the Church Hall afterwards.

The music ranged from flute, clarinet, classical guitar, violin, cello, solo song and a lovely choir of Girl Guides to begin and end the programme.

Other events planned for this year include a very special piano recital given by our Young Musician Winner of 2014, Tim Rumsey.

This takes place in St Mary’s Church in Littlehampton on Sunday, July 10, at 3pm – all are welcome.

This year’s competition takes place on November 4, 5 and 6 at Parkside Church and Georgian Gardens School, both in Littlehampton.

There are many classes planned – vocal, instrumental, choral, ensembles, composition – all adjudicated by sympathetic professional musicians.

There will be a gala concert for the winners at the Alexandra Theatre on November 20.
