Coffee break success

ON behalf of the Meningitis Trust, I would like to thank Sarah Walker, Sarah Maynard and all those at Thomas A’Becket First School in Worthing, for hosting their fourth successful coffee break event, in aid of the Meningitis Trust.

Since 2009, the school has raised more than £1,200 selling cakes, biscuits and hot and cold drinks, thanks to the kind donations of staff, parents and the volunteers themselves. This year’s raffle was also a huge success and the school choir really helped to draw in the crowds.

Organisers, Sarah Walker and Sarah Maynard, are parents of two children who have had meningitis (Ben and Ruby). They have since, with the support of the school, been committed to raising vital funds and awareness of the disease. Ben and Ruby have now both left Thomas A Becket, but the school continues to get behind the annual coffee break event.

At the Meningitis Trust, we are constantly reminded how devastating the disease can be – changing people’s lives in an instant. The money they have raised will make a real difference to the lives of people who are struggling with the impact of meningitis today!

Well done and, again, thank you.
