Are you passionate about your NHS? Do you want to help contribute to the way health services across the Coastal West Sussex area are run and shaped?

Members of the public who are keen to contribute to the way the health service operates are being asked to consider stepping forward to fill places on several committees and groups at Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

Coastal CCG covers the coastal area from Chichester to Shoreham and rural communities including Midhurst, Petworth, Billingshurst and Henfield.

Its annual budget of £662million supports more than 505,000 people, funding a local NHS that is available to people 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

It is responsible for planning, funding and monitoring:

• The care and treatment you may need in hospital and in the community, including district nurses, physiotherapy and other therapies.

• The medicines you may be prescribed.

• Mental health services.

• Support and services for people living with learning disabilities.

Current vacancies include roles on the CCG’s public engagement committee and primary care oversight group, as well as locality board positions.

Kieran Stigant, chair of Coastal CCG, said: “We are committed to putting the patient at the heart of all we do and I believe it is essential that we have public input to the decisions we make. It is has always been important to hear the perspective of the patient and the public but with the increasing need to change the way we deliver services this is more important than ever. Having representation at every level matters and I would encourage anyone with an interest in how we run the NHS to consider applying for these roles.”

All the positions are voluntary.

Successful applicants will have an active interest in health related matters and the necessary skills and experience to read and understand detailed information.
