They can be used on laptops, tablets and phones which makes watching TV on the go easier than ever.

Simply search for the programme you want, click play and it will be streamed live.

However, please be aware that this requires an Internet connection.

Watching TV on long train or plane journeys is a good way to pass the time but Wi-Fi is seldom available.

Luckily there’s an easy solution which means you can still use your favourite catch-up websites while on the move.

Most allow you to download programmes onto your laptop or tablet, giving you the option to watch them at a later date without needing a broadband connection.

A good example of this is with BBC iPlayer.

To get started, go to the page of the programme you want and hit “Download.”

Then follow the steps to install the BBC iPlayer Downloads software to your computer or device.

Just remember that most programmes are only available for 30 days so keep an eye on the expiry dates to ensure you don’t miss out.
