Celebrating spring’s new beginnings

This year is no exception with several campaigns running to donate eggs to us this year – thank you to everyone involved.

Unfortunately, not all of the children we care for can enjoy chocolate because of their complex medical conditions.

So to anyone else thinking of donating eggs at this time of year, we always say we would prefer to have donations to help us pay the nurses’ wages and to help pay our utility bills.

Of course, no chocolate eggs go to waste – there’s always a nurse on hand to eat some chocolate, and the families and siblings staying with us get to enjoy the eggs as well.

We always have Easter egg hunts for those children who can eat chocolate, and of course there are many other Easter-themed games and activities for all the children to have fun with.

But apart from this, Easter is a lovely time of the year to celebrate the bulbs popping out of the ground, the buds on the trees and the baby rabbits hopping around the rural grounds of Chestnut Tree House.

So much of our time is sadly spent dealing with the end of a life which has been far too short, so new beginnings are always something to be celebrated.
