STEYNING Arts, a co-operative of local artists, is rebranding its summer open house event and calling it Just Off the High Street.
Organisers are hoping to attract new visitors to the town and have ensured the event coincides with the popular Steyning Country Fair, which takes place on May 25, Bank Holiday Monday.
Artists and makers will be exhibiting and selling their work in various locations, either in High Street or within walking distance. The aim is to create more accessible viewing.
Venues will include Chatsfields at Steyning Grammar School, Steyning Athletics Club and a variety of local businesses, houses and studios.
Steyning Museum will be holding its own exhibition at the same time, called Stitched in Steyning, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the Steyning quilt project.
The art trail runs from May 23 to 25 and May 30 and 31.
Artists Debbie T. Forsdyke and Sarah Duffield said: “If you are familiar with our Open Houses, you know that we are a friendly group, inspired by our downland setting and beautiful English village.
“We have lots to offer, our affordable quality artwork displays a variety of styles and mediums - ceramics, photography, prints, stained glass, textile art, jewellery, wood turning and paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolour.”
