CHILDREN are preparing to go wild on Saturday, when their new play area is officially opened.
Youngsters are hoping to see the culmination of a six-week project that has seen the play area on Southwick Green completely transformed.

Southwick Green Community Team, which helped organise the refurbishment, is planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony for midday, if all goes well.
Mum Fiona Dunn said: “After nearly two years of campaigning, Southwick Green Community Team is thrilled to announce that the new park on Southwick Green will be officially opened.
“Everyone has been watching the brilliant workmen in rain and sun, working hard these last few weeks to get this new park open in time for spring.
“Come down and have a play!”
She and mum Mel Prior launched the campaign to overhaul the play park and have been key members of the team.
It is intended that their sons, Barney and Charlie, will be the ones to cut the ribbon on Saturday.
Bubbles party shop, in Southwick Square, has donated some balloons for the occasion.
Features of the new park include a trim trail, trampoline, zip wire, slide and giant boat. There is an inclusive roundabout, which is flush level, and a seesaw with back rests.
Fiona said: “Even the builders on the site say they are impressed with the stuff they are putting in.”
The fenced-off area has been expanded so there is grass to sit on, free of litter and dog mess.
The team plans to organise a bigger event once the weather warms up, probably a park picnic in early May.
