New guide showcases very best in Sussex

Chef and author Rick Stein was interviewed about his influences and love of travel in Lewes by Best of Sussex

Best in Sussex is a new website and guide book which showcases 500 of the best pubs, cafes, walks, churches, shops and vineyards from East to West Sussex.

The book, which is illustrated with professional photography, is free to the public.

With an annual tourism spend of £514m from 1.26m visitors to the county, Sussex has a large and rapidly growing tourism industry.

Simon Ridgwell, founder of Best in Sussex, said: “This is a really exciting time for us. We have put a lot of effort into finding the best that Sussex has to offer. I am passionate about Sussex and think it has so many undiscovered treasures. Our aim is to become the definitive guide to Sussex, both for residents and visitors to this beautiful county and I hope that what we are doing will make a real difference to the businesses we feature.”

Vineyards have been a recent area explored within the guide, and the team have researched and visited ten of the best vineyards in Sussex, including the Tinwood estate.
