Liz Trundle, 56, of Castle Lane, Steyning has been in journalism for over 25 years and is helping re-launch the magazine to celebrate its 50th anniversary, which took place on October 1.

Speaking of the Horsham district magazine, Liz said: “The re-launch version of The Arun is dramatically different from its predecessor. Essentially it has gone from being a small A5 newsletter focused on the services provided by Age UK Horsham District to an A4 general-interest glossy magazine with a full range of features and articles.”

Her aim is to produce an informative, attractive and accessible magazine which would be a must-read for anyone in the area.

Liz added: “Readers can look forward to fascinating personal profiles and life stories; In Focus articles focusing on issues relevant to later life (such as retirement living and combating loneliness); a regular well-being update to keep you safe and healthy in older age; essential newsround packed with the latest from around the district and how national news is affecting local older people.

“Plus, a time out section including a quarterly calendar of events and days out around the district and a regular getting away ‘box’ of stress-free accessible holidays or short breaks.”

As the new editor said, she is really looking forward to evolving the magazine now and in the future.

She said she is the type of editor who enjoys reader participation and building a relationship with her readers through letters and emails.
