Esteem, which provides education and training for people aged 16 to 26, is organising the 98km hike from June 24 to 30, with 15 places available.

Supporters of any age can take part in the challenge, which offers a variety of forests, beaches, stunning views, beautiful mountain gites and French cuisine.

Following arrival on the Tuesday, the hike starts in St Jean Pied de Port the next day and finishes in Hendaye on the Sunday.

It is the first stage of the Sentier des Pyrenees, a walk of epic proportions along the north flank of the mountain range.

Those taking part need to raise a minimum of £275, which includes food and board but not flights.

All proceeds will go towards Esteem’s future projects. Email [email protected] for information and booking.

Esteem is based at The Old School House in Ham Road. Visit www.justgiving.com/Esteem to make a donation.
