More than 100 arrested as part of June’s crackdown on drink and drug-driving
More than 100 people were arrested last month as part of Sussex and Surrey Police’s crackdown on drink and drug-driving.
In June’s campaign, know as Operation Dragonfly, 110 people were arrested for drink and drug-driving related offences with 19 arrested in the final week of the month.
Sussex Police has joined forces with Surrey Police, the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, Drive Smart in Surrey and the independent charity Crimestoppers to create the campaign which has seen officers release the names of those who have been charged or convicted of drink or drug driving offences.
Of these 110 that have been arrested 65 have now been charged whilst a further 31 have been arrested and released on bail.
