“Best of Worthing is all about championing and showcasing the great things about our town.

“Worthing is a great place to be – a vibrant town with a great business community, fantastic places to eat and some amazing places to visit.”

In nominating her, Darren explained that since buying the business earlier this year, Melanie has taken it ‘from strength to strength’.

He said: “She has been providing first-class service to all members and regularly providing events for members to meet new like-minded business people.”

Since Melanie took over the business, she has increased the size of its business directory.

Where before, companies were considering pulling out of the directory, they are now queueing to sign up to it.

Darren added: “The networking events normally immediately sell out, which shows how well run they are within the community.

“She also provides free exposure on the website for local charities, and publicises details of their forthcoming events to raise awareness in the area.”

Melanie is also committed to charity work, and will embark on a walking challenge next year in aid of local charities.

Darren said: “She has agreed to walk part of the Great Wall of China to raise funds next year for two local charities – one being Love your Hospital and the other Baby Buddy.

“This is being funded out of her own money and time. She is always putting other people’s interests and needs first, which is first class.”
