Man thanks pair for quick-thinking CPR

A MAN who suffered a major heart attack says he would have died had it not been for the intervention of his son and a Worthing businesswoman.

Tony O’Brien, 76, was at his home in Haywards Heath when he collapsed and stopped breathing.

His son, Michael, and his friend Melanie Peters, managing director of Best of Worthing, quickly stepped in and administered CPR.

The Herald reported how they had learnt CPR from a British Heart Foundation TV advert, and paramedics had credited their actions.

Tony said: “If it wasn’t for them, I would be pointing my toes to the heavens.

“I don’t remember anything about it, but I’m told they did CPR and got the old ticker going again.”
