Man taken to hospital after being struck by train at Worthing railway station

British Transport Police and emergency services including an air ambulance were called to Worthing Railway Station, as a man was struck by a train

Emergency services were quickly at the incident, which happened just before 10am on Monday, December 24.

The man, who is believed to be in his 60s ,was treated at the scene. He was taken to Worthing Hospital suffering from what were described by emergency services as “serious injuries.”

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “BTP officers were called to Worthing rail station on Monday, 24 December following a report of a man being struck by a train.

“Officers from BTP and Sussex Police attended the incident, which was reported to police at 9.57am and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

“Medics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended and the man is currently receiving medical attention at the scene.”
