Man stabbed in midnight attack

A MAN was stabbed and another suffered a head injury in a midnight attack in Shoreham on Friday.

A 22-year-old man from Southwick and a 22-year-old man from Shoreham have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Police were called to the crossing at Shoreham railway station at just before midnight where two men, a 50-year-old and a 48-year-old, both from Shoreham, had been assaulted.

Both men needed hospital treatment.

One suffered a head injury and the other suffered a puncture wound to his body and a split lip. Both men have since been released from hospital and are making a recovery.

The two suspects have been bailed until October 22 while investigations continue.

The incident was said not to be connected to an assault in Worthing on the same evening.

Police could not say whether a knife had been used in the attack.
