Man seriously injured after being crushed by falling machinery in Worthing

Emergency services were called to George V Avenue in Goring at 12.25pm this afternoon (October 6), according to police.

A man suffered a serious leg injury, not thought to be life threatening, after a piece of machinery fell onto him.

An eye witness reported the machinery had fallen from a lorry near to West Worthing post office.

The air ambulance landed at Worthing Leisure Centre, but it is not clear whether the man required airlifting or to be taken to hospital by road.

The police said he is currently in the care of medical crews.
