The RNLI was called out to reports of a paddleboarder in distress near the Littlehampton coast.

At 8.20pm on Tuesday, June 2, the Littlehampton station's lifeboat crew was called out by the coastguard to search for the paddleboarder.

Concerned members of the public had reported they were in apparent distress off the coast of East Beach, Littlehampton.

The crew of the Renee Sherman lifeboat searched eastwards from the harbour entrance towards Rustington, but no-one was found and they were stood down.

On their return journey they spotted a paddle boarder near shore enjoying the water, jumping on and off the board.

Once they had confirmed that all was well with the paddle boarder they headed back to the boathouse in Littlehampton Harbour.
