Lancing A259 collision: Outpouring of grief as community mourns woman killed on seafront

A woman in her late 50s was killed after colliding with a silver BMW in Brighton Road, Lancing, at around 7.20am, according to police.

As the news was shared on Facebook, hundreds of Herald readers shared their sadness through comments and reactions to social media posts.

Commenting on the Herald's Facebook page, Dawn Standing said: "So sad thoughts are with family and friends x."

Holliee Podesta said the same and Karen Merritt reminded readers to spare a thought for the driver of the car, who had themselves suffered a traumatic experience.

Many other commenters shared similar sentiments, sending thoughts and prayers to the victim, who has yet to be identified, and her family.

Maggie Mosedale said: "So sad x."

Kerrie Hopkins commented 'awful... thoughts with her family and friends' and Mandy Jayne Stephenson said 'my thoughts are with the lady and her family'.
