Jobs for young people in supported housing in Shoreham and Lancing

Ben Zuk, 18, and Sophie Dawes, 20, who are both residents of Sanctuary Supported Living’s (SSL) Adur Project, have taken up roles at sister company Sanctuary Maintenance, as they reach the end of their professional training.

Sophie, a resident at the Shoreham service for nearly three years, will start work at the end of the month as a carpenter after three years spent obtaining her level one diploma in carpentry and joinery and level two diploma in bench joinery.

Ben, a resident of the project’s properties in Lancing since May, has finished two years of study for his City and Guilds electrical installation diploma and will do on-the-job training with Sanctuary.

Sanctuary is an exempt charity which provides housing for a wide range of people whose needs cannot be met in general needs accommodation.

This includes the homeless, people with mental health issues, physical and learning disabilities, teenage parents and their children, carers, as well as people experiencing drug and alcohol problems or domestic abuse.
