A MAN had to be rescued from the water after his jet ski suffered engine failure.

Wearing only a short wetsuit, he had been in the water alongside his ski for about 15 minutes and was described by rescuers as ‘cold’.

Shoreham RNLI inshore lifeboat was launched to reports of a broken down jet ski yesterday at 3.10pm.

It was about half a mile west of Shoreham Harbour and about 30 metres from the beach.

The man was recovered from the water into the lifeboat and the jet ski was taken under tow. Both were then landed at the Harbour Club on Shoreham Beach.
