WEAR a feather boa or a smoking jacket, Steyning Jazz Club suggests for its next concert.

The Vintage Hot 5 will be playing 1920s and 1930s music at the Steyning Centre on Friday at 8.30pm.

Andy Woon and his band will ‘ensure a captivating manifestation of rhythmic delight and virtuosity’, according to the club.

Spokesman Colin Jilks said: “This is a band that recreates some of the finest jazz performances of the 1920s and 1930s with that irresistible toe-tapping syncopation and style of the period.

“Wear a feather boa or a smoking jacket, together with your two-tone brown and cream brogues.”

Andy Woon, with his ‘blisteringly hot trumpet and flugel horn’ has put together the band. The other four members are Brian Hills, reeds, Alan Kennington, bass, John E. Muxlow, drums, and Wild William Parsons on banjo, guitar and vocals.

Doors open at 7.45pm. For more information, telephone Denis Cummings on 01903 814017.
