HUNDREDS of posters have gone up across Shoreham and Southwick in a bid to find a well-known little dog.

Dorothy, a teacup yorkshire terrier, is well known in the area from a Facebook page on puppy farm awareness.

Owner Samantha Hewett said the dog went missing from her home in Portslade between 4pm and 5pm on Thursday.

“She is a very well-known dog,” she said.

“She has Facebook pages, Puppy Farm Awarenss and Dorothy Hewett, the pup from a puppy farm, to help people know where to get a dog from, and where not to.

“She is very special. She came from Wales, very poorly with fake paperwork.

“Marc Abraham, the vet, didn’t think she would make it but she just kept pulling through. She is a fighter.”

Samantha is worried because Dorothy still gets poorly, having suffered from fluid on the brain.

“Every child at local schools knows Dorothy,” she added.

“Everyone is devastated from Portslade through to Shoreham and 600 posters have gone up. Dog searches have gone ahead all over, this story has touched so many people.”

Bernadette White, a volunteer with DogsLost, said the national database for lost and found dogs was helping with the search.

“She had a bad start to life, this little dog,” she said. “We want to help her owner to find her.”

A reward is being offered for information that leads to Dorothy being returned home. Call 07769203842 with information.
