A GRUELLING footrace across the Sahara lays in store for the managing director of developer Roffey Homes.
Ben Cheal will jet off to Morocco for the Marathon des Sables 2015 tomorrow. Often referred to as the toughest footrace on earth, the 250 kilometre race takes place over six days in temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius.
Ben is aiming to raise £20,000 to be split between two charities – the Friends of Herons Dale in Shoreham and The High Five Club, which works with impoverished communities in Africa.
Mr Cheal said: “Rufus, the son of our good friends Jo and Rob, attends Herons Dale Primary School and it is on his behalf that I am seeking to raise over £10,000 to pay for at least 50 per cent of the cost of new playground equipment.
“The school is expanding rapidly and they have a real need for new playground equipment for the secondary wing of the school, for which building works start this year.”
