Green Fish Recruitment wins Local Business Accelerators campaign

Three years on from setting up Green Fish recruitment, she has picked up her third honour. After two Herald-linked business awards, she has now scooped success in our Local Business Accelerators campaign.

As she revealed, the prize, which includes three months’ advertising and mentoring from three leading business figures within the area, will make a significant difference to her company.

“I’m delighted we have won the accelerators competition and hope that it will lift the profile of the business,” explained Shelley, whose engaging and down-to-earth manner has served her well in business.

Having worked in the recruitment industry within the Worthing area for more than a decade, she felt starting her own venture based from offices in Findon Valley came at the right time after recovering from her family loss.

She explained: “My mum had been very encouraging to me and the best person in the world.

“When she sadly died in 2009, she left me a small amount of money which I used to set up the business, and as a result I named it partly after her maiden name, Green, and partly as I am a Pisces.”

As she explained, one of the strongest aspects of her venture has been a significant focus on ensuring clients’ requirements are met by spending time with candidates and companies to provide the best job matches possible. Working with a diverse range of industries, from manufacturing to IT and services, Shelley has successfully placed many dozens of employees.

She said it was the “best feeling ever” to give candidates the news they have gained a role, adding: “This is a really exciting time for us in taking on a new member of staff which will help take the business forward.”
