Goring schoolchildren go on a ‘refugee walk’

AS the refugee crisis continues in Europe, schoolchildren from a Goring school have shown their support for those fleeing violence and conflict by staging their own refugee walk.

Children, teachers and parents from English Martyrs Catholic Primary School embarked on a trek around the school grounds to show their support for refugees.

To reinforce the journey refugees are making, children carried boats of all shapes and sizes.

Student Millie Peebles, ten, said: “I was watching the news and I couldn’t believe the problems in our world.

“I thought it would be a good idea to do a walk with my school to raise money for the refugees.”

More than £597 was raised by participants which will be sent to help those in need.
