Speaking of yesterday’s results (August 20) the academy’s principal, Jim Coupe was full of praise for his students: “I am really pleased with these results.

“Despite the ever-changing landscape of education we are experiencing at the moment our staff and students have once again produced a set of results they should be very proud of.

“I wish all our students the very best in the next stage of their lives which, for the majority of them will be joining our excellent sixth form”.

“I would also like to thank their parents for the support they have given. We cannot underestimate the role they play in all of this. We are a team at Shoreham Academy and everyone plays their part in delivering this success”.

These results build on last week’s impressive A-Levels success, which saw the Kingston Lane academy achieving improved results for the fourth consecutive year.

Of all grades achieved by students graduating from sixth form 44 per cent were A* or B grades, with an impressive 77 per cent of students achieving A*-C.
