PHOTOGRAPHS sent in by readers in September feature aeroplanes and birds.
Shoreham Airshow pictures sent in included one of the Breitling Wingwalkers taken by Barbara Fowlie and one of the Vulcan over Lancing College taken by Sarah Reeve.
Jason Pierce captured a dramatic shot of the Spitfire PRXI with a Union Flag in the foreground.
Jan Lofthouse from Ashurst had a great view of the airshow from Widewater Lagoon and the beach.
She sent in a collection of photographs of aeroplanes, plus a Union Flag flying over Shoreham Beach during the airshow weekend.
Jan also sent in a picture of Bertie Lofthouse, her six-year-old German short-haired pointer, which was a winner at Ashurst Dog Show and described by the judge as the best-looking dog.
While most were looking to the skies during the airshow, Graham Holder and others spotted something interesting in the water – a seal bobbing about in the River Adur.
There was one disappointment for airshow visitors – the Canadian Lancaster had to be withdrawn at the last minute.
But two weeks later, the last two flying Lancaster bombers were together over Shoreham, carrying out a fly-past as the town had missed out during the airshow.
Matt Davies was lucky enough to spot the pair and get a couple of photographs.
Birds are the theme for David Tarr’s September collection.
He spotted two cormorants by the Old Toll Bridge and called his photo Room for Two.
There were three photos taken at Arundel Wetland Centre, including a kingfisher, which contrasted nicely with the ‘kingfisher with a wooden heart’, a marvellous carving Mr Tarr found in the Nymans Woods.
