Funding offer for West Sussex community groups
COMMUNITY groups which enhance their neighbourhoods are being urged to beat the December deadline for seeing if they qualify for a cash boost.
The call comes from the West Sussex County Council members of the Joint Downland Area Committee (JDAC) who have Community Initiative Funding (CIF).
CIF is money they receive from the County Council to grant to local community organisations.
Nigel Peters, chairman of the committee’s county council members, said: “Our area is rich with a wide variety of organisations that make a valuable contribution all round the year.
“CIF enables us to actively support their initiatives and projects in a positive and practical way – so why not see if your organisation is eligible before the deadline runs out?”
The committee which met on Monday includes county, district, parish and town councillors and has more than £8,000 left to allocate – but applications must be made a month before their next public meeting, on January 8, 2012.
