FOLK duo Hickory Signals held the audience spellbound at a prestigious London venue.
Laura Ward and Adam Ronchetti, who regularly feature at West Street Loft in Shoreham, took part in the Folk Rising annual showcase at Cecil Sharp House, the heart of English folk.
Laura said: “Following in the footsteps of some of the biggest names in folk and popular music – Martin and Eliza Carthy, Mumford & Sons, Bellowhead and Laura Marling, our set included original material as well as interpretations of traditional tunes with pared-down instrumentation.”
The English Folk Dance and Song Society event is a platform for a new generation of folk music artistes across the country.
Laura said they were grateful for the invitation to play at the event, as it has earned a reputation for being ‘a hotbed of exciting talent’.
Hickory Signals will be joined by Hatful of Rain at West Street Loft in June.
