Flooding, arson and car crash incidents attended by fire service

WEST Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended the following incidents in the past 24 hours:

Wednesday, May 9, 12.55pm to 1.20pm:

Flats, South Street, Wick – Flooding, water from upper flat coming through kitchen ceiling of lower flat and affecting electrics. Fre service unable to gain access to upper flat so water supply isolated externally.

Wednesday, May 9, 6.24pm to 5.25pm:

Pub, Old Shoreham Road, Shoreham – fire at Swiss Cottage pub. Small accidental fire in grill in kitchen. Kitchen 5 per cent damaged by fire. Fan used to assist in ventilation.

Wednesday, May 9, 8.32pm to 9.16pm:

Sompting Road, Worthing – road traffic crash involving two cars. One person trapped in each car, both extricated by fire serive using hydraulic rescue equipment and taken to hospital by ambulance.

Thursday, May 10, 1.38am to 2.13am:

Underpass junction of Old Shoreham Road and Southwick Street, Southwick – Fire in wheelie bin well alight in underpass. Debris removed by fire crew from underpass. Believed to be arson.
