ARTISTES have the opportunity to apply for a £1,000 grant to create a vibrant and colourful street party piece.

There are two Adur Festival grants available, one for the Southwick Street Party and one for the Lancing Street Party on June 13.

The opportunity is open to community artistes or arts organisations and the grants are available to people living or working in Adur.

Robert Heath, who is in charge of festival marketing, said: “The work must be closely linked to the festival’s theme, Food of Love.

“Alongside the work at the street party, the project must include a free community engagement programme leading into the performance.”

The community engagement must include activity at the Fishersgate Centre during May half term for Southwick, or activity at Sompting Big Local Hub for Lancing.

Mr Heath added: “Additionally, the project must be delivered within a realistic budget, and the street party work itself must be able to withstand bad weather.”

Email info@adurfestival.co.uk for an application form. The deadline for submissions is midday on March 16.
