The East Worthing firm walked away with the ‘innovation’ and ‘overall business of the year’ awards, at the ceremony at Worthing Pavilion, while its managing director Peter Webb was awarded the ‘lifetime achievement’ trophy.

The business was the most successful of the night, as awards were handed out to the cream of the area’s companies, across 18 categories.

Mr Webb said: “I am amazed. It is fantastic for the staff and people who work for us.

“I am just the guy up front who takes all the credit.”

ETI has been trading for 30 years, and employs 150 staff.

Mr Webb said winning the ‘lifetime achievement’ award came as a ‘shock’.

He said: “I am still getting over the shock of receiving this award. When I started out 30 years ago I could never have dreamt of ever receiving such a prestigious award.

“I would just like to say a big thank you to my wife Miriam and my family for their support over the past 30 years and more.”
