Driver asks 13-year-old boy to get into car

A MAN asked a 13-year-old boy on his way home to get into his car at 6.40pm on Wednesday, September 10.

The incident took place in Manor Hall Road, Southwick.

The boy refused to get into the vehicle and when he started to phone someone, the driver drove off.

The boy is safe and well and police are making enquiries as to the identity of the man.

The vehicle was described as an old-style black Vauxhall Astra with a G as the first letter of its registration plate.

It had a scratched front door on the passenger side.

The man was described as white but with tanned skin, of heavy build, and aged between 30 and 40 years old.

He was described as having a trimmed beard and moustache, with dark-blond hair with brown streaks.

Police are advising parents to have conversations with their children about how to keep safe.
