The aim is to bring women together to hear from experts and support each other through life’s challenges.

Her-Event is an innovative, conference-led exhibition devoted to women that will take place at Olympia London on Saturday, October 1, from 10am to 6pm.

Tiffany, 41, was inspired after facing various changes in her own life and hopes the exhibition will help women who have had to handle things like bereavement, relationship changes, motherhood and menopause.

“When I separated and divorced, I leant on several girlfriends, in a way, and it got me thinking there must be hundreds and hundreds of women out there who need support in their life,” she said.

“Your friends can only help you so much. Sometimes the only solution is to speak to someone professional because they can steer you in the right direction.

“This is about taking that day out and coming to listen. Life coaches will get people to interact so it won’t be the standard conference set-up. It is also a chance to make new friends. The message is you are not alone.”

Tiffany separated five years ago and divorced about three years ago. She has two children and shares their care with her ex-husband.

She said: “My time with my children is precious. I am trying to preach the work life balance and I am trying to do it myself.

“I have this philosophy where you have home, work and your personal life. If you have one working, it could help the other two, if you have two working it’s great and if you have all three, well you must be perfect!

“I am a strong believer in personal development and changing repetitive patterns for the positive. We are never going to stop learning. Why would you not want to improve yourself just a bit? Things can have a positive impact on your life.”

Although the idea started with Tiffany’s divorce, Her-Event is about so much more than relationships.

“It is about finding ways to improve your life personally or where you want to make a bigger change,” she explained.

“There are many times, like not just having children but finding out you can’t have children, careers, all sorts, where women need help.

“We have brought a group of women together to talk about different things. I wanted to cover lots of different areas rather than being niche.”

Tiffany worked in the events industry, on and off, for around ten years, before having children. She started at the age of 17, when she went to an events company for work experience and was offered a job after two weeks there.

Tiffany was adopted from Vietnam as a baby and was on the last plane out of Saigon before it fell in 1975.

She was brought up in London and said she learned from the best, her father, a theatrical agent.

“I went out a lot with my dad and met a lot of people,” she said. “All his clients were his friends.

“I am really interested in the way people connect and the way people can be together. It is a case of listening to people’s needs and thinking how you can help them, I love that. It is simple, I am a great believer in helping people to connect.”

She developed Her-Event, ‘an inspirational event for real women – supporting each other through life’s challenges’, with co-director Nicola Weston. Happiness, empowerment and re-balance are the buzz words.

“The amount of support I have had has been really gratifying,” said Tiffany.

There will be a main room and two side rooms, one for health and wellbeing and the other focused on life coaching and relationships.

Women will be able to listen to inspiring talks on building better foundations for a more balanced lifestyle.

There will be pop-up workshops covering an array of subjects from mindfulness and yoga to sexual health within relationships.

Running alongside will be exhibitions and an exclusive retail shopping experience.

Tiffany, co-director of Her-Event said: “Whether you are interested to learn about mindfulness, understand what’s it like to be suddenly single, or investigate how to start a business when you have family commitments – there will be a wide range of speakers, exhibitors and interactive sessions to get involved in.

“Exhibitors are being hand picked and will range from boutique clothing to lifestyle retailers.

“I hope this show will at least be a celebration of womankind and I hope that some of you will be able to take something positive away from it.

“Whether it’s a question answered that would be too delicate to broach with a friend, an opportunity to enjoy a spot of retail therapy, a chance to discover yoga or a new contact/mentor for a business venture, financial advice or a chance to sit down over a glass of cold prosecco and have a catch up with a friend, we sincerely hope you enjoy our vision.”

Tickets for the whole day cost £25, to include entry to the various sessions.
