A cunning plan is realised

A NEW day nursery for Steyning was officially opened on Saturday, more than a year after original plans were turned down by Horsham District Council.

Little Foxes Day Nursery is housed in a brand new, purpose-built premises at Chanctonfold business park in Horsham Road.

Owner and manager Felicity Groves said: "We are really excited about being in such a beautiful rural environment. We believe we are now able to offer something special for children and parents."

The original plans to site Little Foxes in Steyning High Street were turned down in 2005, when Horsham council's planning committee voiced concerns about traffic and parking.

So Mrs Groves looked for sites further afield and came up with the newly built business park just on the edge of Stey-ning.

She said that over the past 12 months, the developers had been working closely with her to design and create a building ideally suited for a day nursery, which aims to provide care for babies and children up to the age of five.

Pictured right with Felicity and three of the nursery's youngsters, Horsham district councillors George Cockman and Vivien Lyth '“ who both represent Steyning officially '“ declared Little Foxes open and people were invited to have a look around while balloons were launched and children had their faces painted.
