Worthing woman seriously injured after alleyway attack in broad daylight
A Worthing woman suffered a serious slash wound to her hand after being attacked in an alleyway yesterday (December 23).
Sussex Police said officers received a report of a woman being assaulted in an alleyway in Wallace Avenue, near Courtland Way, in West Worthing just after midday.
The 26-year-old woman sustained a ‘serious slash wound’ to her hand, police said, and has been taken to hospital.
Detective Inspector Antony Leadbeatter said: “Officers are conducting an area search for the suspects involved in the assault.
“We believe this to be an isolated incident and do not believe there is any wider threat to the public. High visibility patrols will be increased in the area while the search continues.
“We are appealing for anyone with information to make contact with us.”
