Tyler Mighall, 21, of Little High Street in Shoreham, was jailed for 20 months on August 18 following the incident in Brighton Road, Lancing, in February.

They pursued the vehicle, but Mighall turned off the car's headlights thinking this would help him to evade police.

He collided with a traffic island and bollard, before crashing into three parked vehicles, causing extensive damage.

Although Mighall ran from the scene, police said, he was quickly detained by officers - but refused to cooperate with a roadside test for drink and drugs.

Police said he was taken into custody where he provided a blood sample for drink and drugs and found to be over the limit for both.
