Raid on Worthing bus company linked to Chichester burglary

A raid on a bus company in Worthing has been linked to a similar crime in Chichester, Sussex Police has confirmed.

At 1.45am on Sunday (July 31) two people were seen on CCTV approaching the rear entrance of the Stagecoach office in Marine Parade.

According to police, an hour-and-a-half later one of the suspects was seen entering a hallway having got in by breaking a window with a brick.

Once inside the office, the suspect gained access to a safe and removed a large quantity of cash.

Sussex Police has confirmed that both suspects were wearing dark clothing with high-visibility vests over. One was wearing a hooded top and the other a baseball cap.

CCTV shows the men to have been at the location between 1.45 and 3.30pm and police are appealing to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area around that time.

The incident has been linked by police to the burglary at Stagecoach’s Chichester bus station offices on Monday, July 26 – where several thousand pounds was stolen.

Police are still appealing for information on the burglary and witnesses can call 101 quoting serial 129 of 25/07.
