Mr Collett will appear before Crawley Magistrate’s Court today (March 14).

He was first spotted driving more than 100mph on the A24 southbound between Broadbridge Heath and Findon at around 2.37pm.

Police said he crashed in Offington Drive, Worthing, at the junction of the A27 at about 3.40pm before jumping back on his bike, ditching his helmet and making his way along the A27, via Durrington, to Shoreham.

He was then traced riding along Dyke Road Avenue, into Brighton city centre and down to Brighton Pier, before heading west to Portslade.
