A 16-year-old girl, who went missing while visiting Rochdale, may have made her way to Sussex.

Sussex Police officers have joined Greater Manchester Police in appealing for information after Zahra Evans was last seen in Rochdale on Saturday evening (August 22).

Zahra is mixed race, 5ft 4in tall, of slim build and has dark hair.

She was last seen wearing a pink hooded jacket, a white vest top, a flowery short skirt and pink, black and white Nike Air trainers.

Police Constable Chris Eardley of Rochdale division said: “We are increasingly concerned for the welfare of Zahra, as she has been missing for more than 36 hours and nobody that we know of has heard or seen her.

“If you see her, or know where she is, please contact the police. If you see this Zahra please call us so we know you are ok.”

A Sussex Police spokesman said Zahra could now be in Sussex.

Anyone with information can phone police on 0161 856 8549, 101, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
