Littlehampton man charged with drink-driving following Arundel crash

A man has been charged following a crash off the A27 at Arundel.

Police were called to the Crossbush junction on the A284 Lyminster Road, off the A27, at 8.59pm on Saturday evening (August 1) after a silver Audi A5 crashed into a barrier.

A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving, police said.

On Monday (August 3), a police spokesman said: “Scott Hellyer, 29, a deliveryman, of Greenfields, Wick, Littlehampton was charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit and bailed to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on October 13.”

Police and paramedics both attended the incident on Saturday evening.

Police said neither the driver nor his female passenger were injured.
