Sara Clemo, 54, of North View, Hunwyck, was fined £120 and must pay £32 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drink-driving (40mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Crown Yard car park, Arundel, on January 20, 2020. Her driving licence was endorsed with eight points. Magistrates did not impose the obligatory driving disqualification for special reasons, including the shortness of distance driven, as she was returning to the car park to buy a ticket to stay overnight and, having been advised to move the car by a traffic warden to straighten up, she reversed from the parking space and stopped.

Russell Mitchell, 29, of St Nicholas Road, Lavant, was given a community order with Horizon-Accredited Sex Offender Programme Requirement and Rehabilitation Activity Requirement after admitting intentionally touching a woman in a sexual way without consent in Southwick on August 23, 2019. He must pay £300 compensation, £90 victim surcharge, £85 costs.

Sam Bullen, 23, of Timberleys, Littlehampton, must pay £60 costs after admitting breaching a community order by failing to make himself available for planned telephone appointments on May 5 and 13, 2020. The order was revoked and he was dealt with for the original offence, receiving a new community order with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and he must carry out 70 hours’ unpaid work for possessing MDMA, a class A drug, in East Preston on January 22, 2019; and having an offensive weapon, a knuckle duster, at Angmering Railway Station on January 22, 2019.

Karl McLean, 35, of New Road, Littlehampton, was given a community order with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and must carry out 80 hours’ unpaid work after admitting causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, a Jack Russell terrier type and two crossbreeds, by failing to explore and address their poor bodily condition in Eastland Road, Chichester, between September 3 and 13, 2019; causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, a crossbreed dog, by failing to seek appropriate professional veterinary care to address an infected wound between September 6 and 13, 2019; causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, a terrier type, a collie type and a crossbreed, by subjecting the animals to an environment that was detrimental to their wellbeing between September 3 and 13, 2019; and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, a gecko, by failing to explore and address his poor bodily condition between September 3 and 13, 2019. He must pay £90 victim surcharge, £150 costs.

Harry Hepburn, 20, of Hayling Rise, High Salvington, was fined £120 and must pay £32 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drug-driving (2.1ug/l Delta-9-THC) in South Street, Tarring, on December 1, 2019. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Graham Keeley, 39, of Bridges Road, Crawley, was given a community order with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and must pay £439 compensation, £90 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting stealing alcohol worth £439 from Sainsbury’s, Lyons Farm, Worthing, on March 2, 2020.

Jake Lillywhite, 20, of Surry Boat Yard, Shoreham, was fined £120 and must pay £32 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drink-driving (147mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood) in Harbour Way, Shoreham Beach, on February 27, 2020. He was disqualified from driving for 17 months. He was also fined £40 after admitting driving without the correct licence in Harbour Way, Shoreham Beach, on February 27, 2020.

Colin Merriott, 62, of Poling Street, Poling, was fined £450 and must pay £45 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drink-driving (66mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Water Lane, Angmering, on January 15, 2020. He was disqualified from driving for 17 months.

James Burt, 22, of Upper West Drive, Ferring, was given an eight-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and must carry out 150 hours’ unpaid work after admitting assault by beating in Worthing on January 18, 2020. He must pay £250 compensation and was given a restraining order, barring him from The Mulberry public house in Goring and The Warwick public house in Worthing town centre until July 27, 2022.

Taylor Evans, 19, of Barnet Way, Durrington, was given a community order with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and must carry out 150 hours’ unpaid work after admitting causing wasteful employment of the police by knowingly making a false report to Sussex Police, tending to show that an offence had been committed, in Sussex on December 14, 2019; driving without due care and attention in South Street, Worthing, on December 14, 2019; failing to stop after an accident in South Street, Worthing, in which damage was caused to another vehicle on December 14, 2019; and driving without the correct licence in South Street, Worthing, on December 14, 2019. He must pay £400 compensation and was disqualified from driving for six months. He also admitted driving without insurance, no separate penalty.

Bruno Vermelho, 37, of Wallace Avenue, Worthing, was given a community order and must carry out 180 hours’ unpaid work after admitting drink-driving (240mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood) on the A259 Angmering on January 24, 2020. He must pay £90 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and was disqualified from driving for 36 months.

David Harrington, 66, of Maple Court, Denham Road, Burgess Hill, was given an 18-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement after admitting drink-driving (143mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood) in Lyminster Road, Littlehampton, on September 29, 2019; and driving while disqualified in Lyminster Road, Littlehampton, on September 29, 2019. He must pay £122 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and was disqualified from driving for 50 months. He also admitted driving without insurance and driving a vehicle without an MOT test certificate, no separate penalties.

Lloyd Suggett, 20, of Beechlands Close, Montpelier Road, East Preston, was discharged conditionally for 12 months and must pay £21 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting possessing one joint of cannabis, a class B drug, in Worthing on October 28, 2019.

Alex Weeks, 48, of Charlton Dean, Charlton, was given a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, after admitting affray, using or threatening unlawful violence towards two police constables in a way that would cause fear for personal safety in Littlehampton on April 19, 2020. He was also given a restraining order and must pay £122 victim surcharge, £85 costs.
